๐Ÿค Parental Support & Adult Help

Scouting depends on its adult volunteers, and we welcome your involvement. As a parent of a group member, you play an important role in supporting our young people’s journey.

What we ask as a minimum: Help out for one evening with your child’s section each term, and assist at one of our two termly maintenance sessions (around two hours) at our group’s storage unit.

โญ Ways You Can Get Involved

๐ŸŽ“ Nationally recognised training โ€” first aid, climbing, water sports, sailing, archery and more
๐Ÿ“œ Achieve tutoring qualifications in any of our activities
๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Offer a skill to help train or support a section for a badge or award
โ˜• Help prepare refreshments for a section or group event
๐Ÿš— Help transport young people to events and camps
๐ŸŽ‰ Support the Scout Group at social evenings and community events
๐Ÿ’ฐ Support fundraising activities for the group
๐Ÿ“‹ Join the Executive Committee and help manage the Scout Group
๐Ÿ”ง Help maintain group equipment and facilities
No previous experience necessary โ€” training will be provided. If you, your partner, a friend or relative is interested in Scouting as an adult โ€” occasionally or regularly โ€” please speak to a leader or fill in the form below.

The only “payment” for being a leader (except basic expenses) is lots of fun and making many friends! ๐ŸŽ‰

๐ŸŽ—๏ธ Fundraising

Fundraising is vital in supporting the Scout Group and benefits your children in numerous ways:

๐Ÿ•๏ธ Enables activities from camping trips to skill-building workshops, enhancing personal growth and resilience
๐ŸŽฝ Ensures access to essential equipment, uniforms and resources, fostering inclusivity
๐Ÿ—๏ธ Helps maintain and improve facilities, creating a safe and stimulating environment
๐ŸŒ Aids in organising community outreach programmes promoting teamwork, leadership and engagement

By contributing your time to fundraising, you directly support your child’s development, helping them build lifelong skills and create lasting memories. Role-modelling positive behaviours is also vital to a child’s growth.
